Bought this for my son, and he really enjoyed putting it together and seeing it function.
What a great idea and gift. We had fun assembling this small engine and there were many learning moments for the kids. Excellent Quality!
Purchased for an 11yr old who loves engines and how things work. It did take a couple days to assemble. Lots of pieces, too many for completing at just one sit down, but it was great for him to have something to come back to. If you have an inquisitive child this is a great choice!
This is a great model that teaches the basics of a four stroke engine. My 12 year old son was able to put it together himself. I only needed to show him how to clean the flashing off of the parts prior to assembly. He struggled a bit with the valvetrain because there are so many parts that need to simultaneously be engaged. This in itself is a lesson in patience and perseverance. He had one of the cams clocked off, and I was able to spot it because both the intake and exhaust valve for that cylinder operated at the same time. This was a great opportunity to us to have a discussion about the four cycles. Overall, a great model that mixes fun and learning.
